Are you a detail-oriented finance professional looking to join a dynamic team? We’re seeking a proactive Accounts Assistant to support a busy finance department in maintaining efficient financial operations for our client based in the Winton area of Eccles.

About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, payment processing, and expense management. You’ll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, resolving queries, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and customers.  This is a vital role to the business and is a fantastic opportunity to join our client who are a market leader in their field with an enviable reputation.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this Accounts Assistant role will include:

  • Purchase Ledger: Matching purchase orders, posting invoices, reconciling supplier statements, and handling queries.
  • Sales Ledger & Credit Control: Chasing payments, assessing credit limits, opening new accounts, and managing customer credit checks.
  • General Finance Support: Processing staff expenses, creating supplier payments, and assisting the Finance Manager with reporting and other duties.

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate for this Accounts Assistant role will possess:

  • Experience: Previous experience in an accounts role is essential. Experience in the manufacturing sector is a plus.
  • Qualifications: Ideally AAT part-qualified or working towards a finance qualification.
  • Skills: Strong numeracy, attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel, accounting software, and ERP systems.
  • Attributes: A proactive and adaptable mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
