About this role

Our client, a fast growing local company based in Little Hulton, are looking to recruit a Credit Controller to join their Accounts team.  The main purpose of this role will be to provide administrative support in a busy credit control team in a business with diverse revenue streams in a fast-paced environment; assisting with the collection of debts and building a rapport with customers.

The main duties of this Credit Controller position will include:

  • Reconciling cash accounts; reporting on and resolving any issues and queries with the relevant departments
  • Managing incoming telephone queries
  • Logging all queries and dispersing them to be resolved
  • Reporting accounts to the Credit Control Team leader if any concerns are raised
  • Logging all forms of contact with individual customers in the Aged Debtors list
  • Issuing account statements
  • Ensuring outstanding invoices are resolved both internally and externally
  • Providing accounts information to internal departments
  • Maintaining customer data on the accounting system
  • Ensuring credit limits and credit scores are up to date
  • Building relationships with customers
  • General administration duties

Specific daily tasks of this Credit Controller position will include:

  • Creating credit card and cheque payment logs
  • Controlling the cash accounts
  • Reviewing and updating the on-stop list
  • Scanning and filing
  • Printing remittances
  • Opening new accounts
  • Preparing the paying in book for the bank run
  • Sending account statements
  • Posting new Direct Debits onto the system

The successful candidate for this Credit Controller role will possess:

  • Previous experience working in a busy Credit Control department
  • Knowledge of Sage or Worldpay will be advantageous
  • Be highly conscientious, diligent, self-motivating and enthusiastic
  • Able to manage own workload and time
  • Be able to juggle priorities in a demanding environment
  • Be numerate and literate with accurate keyboard skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Be able to work independently
  • Be calm and confident when dealing with potential uncomfortable situations

In return the company offer this role on a full time, permanent basis.

Salary:  £22,000 per annum

Hours:  8.00am – 5.00pm (1 hour lunch)
