About the Role
Our client, a well-established business based in South Manchester, is seeking a motivated and organised Operations Administrator to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to build a long-term career within logistics and operations. Working as part of a busy operational team, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day movement of goods, liaising with internal departments, and ensuring customers receive a high level of service.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining efficient communication between warehouse, transport and operational teams whilst ensuring accurate administration and timely resolution of customer and delivery queries.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and responding to shared operational email inboxes.
- Liaising with warehouse teams regarding stock checks and inventory queries.
- Working closely with transport departments to resolve delivery issues and coordinate delivery booking slots.
- Monitoring transport arrivals and escalating any delays or discrepancies where required.
- Supporting the facilitation and coordination of export shipments with relevant depots and operational teams.
- Updating internal systems and maintaining accurate records.
- Assisting with the investigation and resolution of delivery and shipment-related issues.
- Providing administrative support to the wider operations team.
- Ensuring customer and operational enquiries are handled efficiently and professionally.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience within an administration, logistics, transport or operational support role.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across multiple departments.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Confidence working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and proactively solve problems.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
Training & Development
Full training will be provided, including:
- Operational processes and systems overview.
- Company induction programme.
- Transport Management System (TMS) training.
- Ongoing support and development within the operations team.
